In order to eliminate any pay gaps between women and men, the French Ministry of Labor has provided companies with a tool for calculating an index of equal pay for women and men. This index accumulates points to be obtained on :
- - The gender pay gap
- - The gap in individual increases
- - The promotion gap between men and women
- - Increases after maternity leave
- - Gender breakdown of the ten highest-paid employees
In accordance with decree no. 2019-15 of January 8, 2019, the index must be calculated from these 4 to 5 indicators (depending on the size of the company). It gives a score out of 100 points. Each company must achieve a minimum score of 75/100. If a company does not exceed this threshold, it has three years to comply, failing which it may be penalized up to 1% of its payroll.
